Before and After - Easter Sunday

This is a same-day, morning and afternoon picture. I love the contrast in weather in spring. Cold, windy, snowy and then sunny and mild in the afternoon. I must confess my love for this landscape, and the fact that I get to see this everyday. The big tree in the back is a beautiful pinon pine tree and the plant in the foreground is the incredibly useful yucca plant. The root is good for shampoo, the leaves can be used for sandals, baskets, mats, ropes, and turkey feather blankets. Yucca also flowers and has fruit, both of which are edible. But trust me, this is one plant you do not want to mess with. It's tough and has really sharp ends. I'm not sure which would hurt worse to fall on, prickly pear cactus, or yucca.
