Balcony House Rooms 8 and 9

This room, room 8 in Balcony House, served as a calendar. The small portal to the right of the bottom door allows a beam of light from either equinox sunrise, into the room. A somewhat triangular stone on the back wall receives the sunlight at the top of the stone. The sunbeam then travels down the back of the stone and reaches the floor, crosses to the middle of the floor to a basin pecked into the bedrock.
