Minor League Baseball

Baseball, Columbus Clippers vs Buffalo Bison, AAA International League

This was a fun first experience of "affiliated" minor league baseball. I saw some future and past/future major leaguers. It was fun to see Jason Tyner, former Twin, playing for the Buffalo Bison, AAA team for the Cleveland Indians. There were lots of Indians fans in attendance. I guess that means if I'm a true blue Twins fan I have to attend a Rochester Redwings game, as they are the Twins AAA team from the same league as Columbus. It would be fun.

Back in SD we have minor league baseball. We have the Canaries who play the St. Paul Saints, among other teams. They are part of the independent American Association, a small league that holds teams that were once part of the Northern League, and some others. Minor leauge baseball is a fun way to experience baseball, because it's not as pretentious, among other things. It's not as big as major league baseball - parks, crowds, noise, video boards - it's all different. They do have major league prices on food, however. That is one similarity.
