Crazy at Camp

Chad, our director, in a dress.

It was another great week at camp. This was the first week we had "Wilderness Day." It's basically a morning out in the woods, from 9:30 am to 1 pm. It's a great time. The children make shelters, start their own fires, and prepare their own food over the open fire. I orchestrate it all, including a "Tour of Homes", and I start the big fire for cooking. We had great weather this week, and that really helped. This week was one of the best yet. It was really rewarding to be at camp - many of the children stated how they didn't want to go home. It's gratifying to do work, and be a part of something that children love so much.

There are less than two weeks left of this job. It feels like it's time to be done, and yet I'll miss the comraderie we've had as a staff, the work, and the place. Perhaps I'll come back in the Fall.

Today I'm visiting a friend in Granville, OH, and then probably going to Columbus for a minor league baseball game! Tomorrow? Maybe off to Dayton to check out the home of the Wright Bros. Take care, and blessings. S
